Fence Service Area: New Braunfels and Nearby
We connect homeowners with local, independent fence pros serving New Braunfels and the surrounding area.
New Braunfels
New Braunfels is the seat of Comal County, and part of the city extends into Guadalupe County (Comal County). Areas we serve include the historic Gruene area, newer master-planned communities such as Veramendi (where HOA rules usually apply), and established neighborhoods such as Oak Run (LRG Realty neighborhood guide).

Which rules apply depends on your address
Inside New Braunfels city limits, fence permits are handled by the City, which lists Fence as a residential permit type (city permits). In another city such as Seguin, Schertz or Cibolo, that city sets its own rules, and outside any city limits the picture is different again. We have not verified Comal or Guadalupe County rules for unincorporated lots, so a pro serving your address should confirm where your property sits.
Your HOA is a separate layer. Texas Property Code § 202.023 lets many associations regulate fence type but limits how far they can go (statute). If your home is in a master-planned community such as Veramendi, ask for your covenants before choosing a style.
Land and soil change across the area
Comal County sits on the divide between the Blackland Prairies and the Balcones Escarpment (Handbook of Texas). Edwards Plateau soils are described as mostly stony over limestone, while soils in the east of Comal County are loam with clay subsoil (Texas State University soils summary). Rock and clay change how posts are set, which is why it helps to tell a pro your ZIP or neighborhood when you request a quote. See fence installation for what to ask.

How to describe your location to a pro
When you submit the form, include your ZIP code or neighborhood and, if you know it, whether you are inside city limits. Mention if you are in a subdivision with an HOA, near a creek or drainage easement, or on a corner lot. A pro who works in your area can tell right away whether the lot is likely to have rock, whether a permit applies and how long the job will take.
Fences near water
New Braunfels is known for its rivers, and fences near a creek or floodplain are a special case. The City lists Floodplain Development among its permit types (city permits page), so if your lot is near a river or creek, ask the City whether work there needs review.
Ask your pro about timing
Fence companies tend to book by area, so a crew that works the west side of New Braunfels may take a few extra days to reach Seguin or Cibolo. When you request a quote, mention any deadline, such as a new puppy, a pool inspection or a closing date, and ask the pro to say honestly whether they can meet it.
Before the crew arrives
Whatever your town, the sequence is the same: confirm HOA and city requirements, have utilities located through Texas811 (free, two business days ahead), and get a written quote. Our FAQ collects the details and the City’s permit office contacts.
